Manage your settings
On your Gemini Intelligence phone, you can manage features, data permissions, and privacy preferences individually from your device settings. Depending on the feature, you may also need to manage individual app permissions, location settings, or system preferences.
Note: Certain Gemini app features require setting up Personal Intelligence and Proactive Assistance or setting Gemini app as the default assistant.
Personal IntelligenceTo set up Personal Intelligence:
- When you turn on a new or re-set device, you can connect your Google apps during setup.
- Follow the steps to set up your device.
- On the “Supercharge Gemini with Personal Intelligence” page, you can choose which apps to connect to Gemini.
- To connect all available apps, tap Connect all.
- To choose which apps to connect, tap Choose apps.
- Or tap Don’t connect.
- Follow any on-screen instructions.

With Proactive Assistance on your Gemini Intelligence phone, Gemini can understand details on your screen and signals from your device to provide proactive suggestions or helpful information, such as reservation codes or travel details, exactly when you need it.
To set up Proactive Assistance during device setup:
- When you get to the “Gemini can help with what’s on your screen” page, tap Turn on to enable Proactive Assistance.
- You can choose which on-device sources to enable for Proactive Assistance, including messages and screenshots.
