Mail-in repairs

Your payment method is authorized for the estimated repair cost when you place your repair order. If the inspection shows no extra items need to be fixing, you'll be charged, and the repair will begins.

If the inspection identifies additional repairs, we’ll contact you through email. You have 10 days to accept or decline the updated cost. If we receive no response, we’ll send the device back unrepaired and you won't be charged.

Walk-in repairs

After you drop off your device at a repair partner, they will contact you about additional charges. This occurs if we find other damage during inspection. You must accept these charges to begin the repair.

Tip: For repairs done in EEA and UK countries, you can decline additional charges for cosmetic repairs. This is possible if these damages don't prevent the device from being repaired as stated in our warranty centre link.

You can get a quick estimate for what common repairs might cost. Repair cost depends on several factors like warranty status, type of issue or damage, and repair partners or locations.

Go to store.google.com/repair.
Enter your device’s IMEI or serial number.
Select your device's damages.

Learn about warranties & repair costs

For in-warranty devices or damages, there’s no charge for the repairs.
For out-of-warranty devices or damages, the estimated repair cost is on the last page before you create your order.

Charges for repairs on in-warranty device

You might also be charged for repairs even if your device is in warranty because the manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t cover certain damage types. Some frequently excluded damage types include cracked screens, cosmetic damage, and liquid damage. Internal damages may not be visible.

Actual repair costs may be higher than the quoted estimate. If there's a discrepancy between the estimated quote and the actual cost, you’ll receive a confirmation email to approve the cost change before the repair can begin.
