Eligibility requirements
General Creator Search, Overview, and Lists are available to all active Google Ads accounts that are registered in a country where the YouTube Partner Program is available.
Also, minimum spend requirements and Large Customer Sales or Google Customer Solutions customer assignment will no longer be applicable.
How the Overview tab works
The Overview tab allows you to do the following:
- Preview suggested creator videos: You can find a selection of YouTube videos and Shorts and watch them in expanded view.
- Note:
- Suggested creator videos feature a partnership with your brand. These suggestions are based on various signals such as the Google Ads account name, linked YouTube channels, and sponsorship indicators like “#sponsored”.
- The Overview tab may include suggested creators who have videos that mention your brand (Brand Mentions). These suggestions are labeled with "Mention your brand" and may be sponsored or organic content.
- Note:
- Send Brand Partner Access requests: This allows you to send a linking request to a YouTube creator so you can use the video in your Creator partnerships boost and access organic performance metrics. Learn more about Product Linking: Link YouTube channels or videos and Google Ads accounts. Brand Partner Access allows you to:
- Run Creator partnerships boost with co-branded ads layout.
- Access performance data (paid and organic) in the “Analytics” tab of YouTube Creator Partnerships.
- Enable creation of new data segments based on the organic viewership of the linked creator video that can be used for campaign targeting or as seed lists for lookalike audiences.
- Promote a creator video: This allows you to easily use the video to start a campaign.
- Note: You’re responsible for obtaining the rights to use the creator video as an ad. It may require a separate agreement with the creator or other rights holder.
How to navigate and use the Overview tab
- Go to YouTube Creator Partnerships within the Tools menu and select the Overview tab.
- In the “Promote sponsored creator videos mentioning your brand” card, you can find video previews that feature a partnership with your brand.
- Select the video to watch it in an expanded view.
- To watch the video on YouTube, select the video preview and the YouTube button at the bottom right-hand corner to open a new tab with the video.
- You can also select the share icon
at the top right-hand corner to get the URL to the uploaded video.
- To send a linking request which unlocks video audience data, better reporting, and using the video as a partnership ad, select the link icon
at the top-right corner of the video preview. The link icon
will update to the status of the request.
- Note: You should send a request to link the creator video to your Google Ads account. The YouTube creator may accept the request, enabling you to use the video in your Google Ads campaign. Google isn't involved in your agreement with the YouTube creator. You're responsible for securing the rights to use the video as an ad, which may require a separate agreement with the creator or other rights holders.
- If you want to use these videos in an ad campaign, select the Promote button to open ad campaign selection.
- Select the Copy URL button, then you can paste the video link to an ad campaign of your choice.
- You can also select the Start campaign button to start making your campaign.
- Select Copy URL or Start campaign to initiate the video linking process with the creator.

at the top right-hand corner of the video preview. Select Send feedback.
- A side panel should appear for your input. Write a description on the issue, and our team will aim to quickly resolve the issue. Select Send in the bottom right-hand corner when you’re done.
How to send and approve Brand Partner Access requests
Brand Partner Access lets you partner with YouTube creators to use their videos and improve performance with Creator partnerships boost. Brand Partner Access suggestions show you videos that were used in your previous campaigns, or videos that creators have requested to link to your Google Ads account.
- In the “Send and approve Brand Partner Access requests” card, you'll find suggested videos that have been used in your ad campaigns.
- Choose a video suggestion and click Link video to send a linking request to the YouTube creator. You can also select the Link all videos button to send a linking request to all suggested videos.
- Note: You’re responsible for obtaining the rights to use the video as an ad. It may require a separate agreement with the creator or other rights holder.
- In the ”Link YouTube videos by YouTube creator” slide panel, select the Link button at the bottom.
- Note: This step is only applicable if you select the Link all videos button.
- To check all your linked videos and requests, go to Data Manager.
Shared codes to enable Brand Partner Access
Shared codes offer an alternative method for YouTube creators to grant you Brand Partner Access. It simplifies the process, as it enables a direct, asset-to-brand connection through a unique, clickable code. This is useful when you don't have a dedicated brand YouTube channel, have multiple channels, or prefer not to link your brand channel directly to Google Ads.
When you receive the code from the YouTube creator, follow these steps:
- Select the code URL and if you haven’t signed in to your Google Ads account, you will be prompted to.
- If you manage multiple accounts, select your preferred account or customer ID.
- You’ll be directed to the “Analytics tab” tab in the “YouTube Creator Partnerships” page where the code is automatically added.
- Note: A banner will appear to mention that the creator video was successfully added and a “New” tag will show on the video in the list.
- The creator video will be available in both the “Analytics tab” tab in the “YouTube Creator Partnerships” page and in the “Received” tab in the “Data Manager” page.
- Note: You can filter for assets shared only by code.
- When you have Brand Partner Access, you can use creator videos and improve performance with Creator partnerships boost.
Considerations around Shared codes
- Manage multiple accounts: You can use the same code to add the creator video to multiple individual Google Ads accounts. Each time you click the code URL, you'll need to select the specific account.
- Note: If you add a code to a Manager Account, it won't automatically grant access to its child accounts. You must add the code separately to each child account where you plan to boost the creator video.
- Navigate account access and errors: Only Google Ads account admins can select the code URL to add videos to their accounts. Non-admins will get an error message. If you receive an error, check that the URL is complete and the code validation server is active.
- Note: Errors also happen if the creator deletes the video, marks it private, or revokes the code.
- Monitor creator revocation: Creators can revoke access to a code at any time from YouTube Studio. If they revoke access, the video can still run as an ad, but it will lose Brand Partner Access benefits such as co-branded logos, the "Subscribe" button, comment access, and organic data exchanges for segments and analytics).
- Note: Creators view your Google Ads account name when you gain access through a code. Make sure your account name is recognizable so they don't accidentally revoke access.
