@blindgeekzone thanks for reporting this - are you able to confirm with the Free Code Camp community permissions? They'd be the best source of truth for that and if we can rule that out, we can determine how to best process this. I get how frustrating this may be and I hate hearing how many hours you've spent trying to solve this. Thanks for coming to the community! |

Hi everyone,
I'm totally blind and use JAWS on Windows, and I'm trying to follow the official freeCodeCamp Relational Databases course.
I'm currently blocked when trying to create the required GitHub Codespace for:
freeCodeCamp/rdb-alpha
The repository appears in the Codespaces creation page, but it is greyed out/unavailable and JAWS cannot select it.
I've now tested this in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge with JAWS, with the same result.
I also contacted Microsoft Disability Answer Desk and had their support staff independently try to follow the same process. They were able to see the page,
but they also could not select the repository because it was greyed out. They therefore advised me to contact the developer/service responsible for the
page.
I've contacted GitHub Support as well, but they told me that this level of investigation requires a paid GitHub plan and directed me to the GitHub Community.
I've also contacted freeCodeCamp and am waiting for their response.
I don't want to fork the repository because that isn't the workflow specified by the freeCodeCamp course. The course instructions are to start the course,
click Create, wait for the Codespace to load, and then use CodeRoad.
At this point I'm wondering if someone familiar with GitHub Codespaces and JAWS could help me determine what is actually happening with this repository
selector.
If anyone is available to provide a remote assistance session and help me inspect the page using JAWS, I would really appreciate it. I'm in Adelaide, Australia,
so someone available during Australian daytime or evening would be particularly helpful, but I'm happy to work with someone from another time zone if our
schedules line up.
I don't have sighted assistance available, and I've now spent many hours trying different browsers and repeating the same process. I'm really hoping someone
can help identify whether this is a GitHub repository/permissions issue or an accessibility problem with the Codespaces interface.
Thanks very much for any help or suggestions.
